The most desired game awards in central and eastern europe
The Central & Eastern European Game Awards is the most important award for game developers in this part of Europe. We want to celebrate and promote the CEE game industry together.
The Central and Eastern European region is a large, important and highly creative, yet often underestimated part of the global games industry, boasting more than 1,000 studios, bringing together almost 30,000 highly skilled developers and specialists.
Established in 2018, the Central & Eastern European Game Awards was created as a collaborative project between game industry organisations from the Central and Eastern European region to honour the best games produced and released by local studios in the current year.
The final gala of the Central & Eastern European Game Awards, during which the winners are awarded CEEGA statuettes, is organised by the Centre for the Development of Creative Industries and is held periodically (annually in autumn) in the Earth Hall of the Poznań International Fair, on the occasion of one of the most popular trade fairs in our part of Europe, the Poznań Game Arena (PGA) and the accompanying Game Industry Conference (GIC), and enjoys growing popularity among computer games fans.
For the latest fifth-anniversary edition, in 2022, 74 games from 14 countries were submitted to the competition. The CEEGA took place in Poznań on 8 October during the Poznań Game Arena & Game Industry Conference. The judges selected four titles competing for the award in each category and then set the final winners by voting. The 2022 edition brought together thousands of people.
Organisations appoint the Jury, holding two members from each country, a journalist and an industry professional. The Jury will create nominations in 8 categories and finally choose awardees. But we are planning to develop the category so stay tuned
CEEGA was created as a joint project of the game industry organisations from the region. The 16 organisations from Central and Eastern Europe nominate two people from each country for the jury. These are usually specialist journalists or game industry professionals.
The judges cast their vote for the winners in categories such as: Visual Art, Audio, Design, Narrative, Hidden Gem, Technology, Best Mobile Game and most important, Best Game.
By voting, a jury selects the finalists who will receive the CEEGA statuette. The culmination of the project each year is the final gala in Poznań, where the jury announces the award winners.
